Today at CP! Jack, Robin, Eeny & Meeny and Jonjo
I had too many cute photos to only include just one of each cat!

The first sighting of our field mice friends of the year and on the first day of Spring too!
21st March 2023
Our car was in for its service today so we had a lovely 2-mile walk home after dropping it off in the morning.
I always take my camera just in case and as we were almost home we came across this guy on the path.
Afraid they'll get stood on, I always lift them to the nearest safe area. I hope it's more helpful than a hindrance.
The third photo may seem brutal but it had a happy ending.
As we were leaving to drop off the car in the morning we disturbed a Sparrowhawk that had obviously just gotten hold of a pigeon.
Luckily they both took off flying in different directions and although there were a few feathers,
the blood was very minimal and we hope that the pigeon was relatively unharmed.

We did check the surrounding area, both our gardens, in bushes and nearby in case it had been able to take off
but not sustain flight but there was no sign. Fingers crossed they have recovered.

Another wonderful Washington Wetlands visit!
Chuffed to see a Stock Dove and Greenfinch as well as everything else of course.
The Mandarins were doing their little mating ritual and we also made a little friend.
You used to be allowed to feed the birds but since the big bird flu outbreak, its been stopped.
I think this little one was hoping it was business as usual as they came running towards us, then had a little peck at our shoes and legs when we didn't oblige.
Poor thing, they were so very friendly!
(Just to clarify, we also didn't touch them. Bird flu is very serious and we aren't about to put anyone in jeopardy.)

6.24am. A double rainbow and crazy orange haze as the sun rose and it rained.
Later in the day, hide and seek with Aurora!
