2023 Daily Photos // Days 78 - 84

19th March 2023
Today at CP! Jack, Robin, Eeny & Meeny and Jonjo
I had too many cute photos to only include just one of each cat!

20th March 2023
The first sighting of our field mice friends of the year and on the first day of Spring too!

21st March 2023
Our car was in for its service today so we had a lovely 2-mile walk home after dropping it off in the morning.
I always take my camera just in case and as we were almost home we came across this guy on the path.
Afraid they'll get stood on, I always lift them to the nearest safe area. I hope it's more helpful than a hindrance.

The third photo may seem brutal but it had a happy ending.
As we were leaving to drop off the car in the morning we disturbed a Sparrowhawk that had obviously just gotten hold of a pigeon.
Luckily they both took off flying in different directions and although there were a few feathers,
the blood was very minimal and we hope that the pigeon was relatively unharmed.
We did check the surrounding area, both our gardens, in bushes and nearby in case it had been able to take off
but not sustain flight but there was no sign. Fingers crossed they have recovered.

22nd March 2023
Another wonderful Washington Wetlands visit!
Chuffed to see a Stock Dove and Greenfinch as well as everything else of course.
The Mandarins were doing their little mating ritual and we also made a little friend.
You used to be allowed to feed the birds but since the big bird flu outbreak, its been stopped.
I think this little one was hoping it was business as usual as they came running towards us, then had a little peck at our shoes and legs when we didn't oblige.
Poor thing, they were so very friendly!
(Just to clarify, we also didn't touch them. Bird flu is very serious and we aren't about to put anyone in jeopardy.)

23rd March 2023
6.24am. A double rainbow and crazy orange haze as the sun rose and it rained.
Later in the day, hide and seek with Aurora!

24th March 2023
Spring-themed, vegan chocolate cake!

25th March 2023
First time on Ring-Fit in a while and currently on level 523 of the 2x extra fitness levels!

2023 Daily Photos // Days 71 - 77

12th March 2023
A day of (almost) all beautiful black cats!
Today's beauties were Sapphire, Luke and Leia, Midna, Azula and Katara, and Jack.

13th March 2023
The Dunncocks have returned!

14th March 2023
Fixed the fence, tidied some of the garden (without disturbing any buggy homes),
and litter-picked the bush and path outside our house.
And this evening's subtle sunset.

15th March 2023
The Blue Tits have found the new fat ball feeder!

16th March 2023
We signed up as WWT members on the 1st of March, visited for the first time on the 3rd and our passes arrived today!
(We bought the patch when we visited our local WWT for World Wildlife Day.)

17th March 2023
13.5 degrees and raining.
Compared to a week ago when there were temperatures of -4 and snow...

18th March 2023
I love pre-order book mail, it's like a present popping through my letterbox!
Even more so when they are signed, have come straight from the Author themselves and support a great cause.
(Ten percent of profits go to the ME Association)

2023 Daily Photos // Days 64 - 70

5th March 2023
Finding handwritten notes in secondhand books is lovely,
though when it's dated so recently I wonder why the recipient of such a wonderful gift got rid of it.

6th March 2023
This pair stood at a standoff for a long, long time for this coconut, despite there
being plenty other food options around our gardens!

7th March 2023
The full Worm Moon.

8th March 2023
This little guy had us worried with how lethargic they were.
We kept an eye on them and went out to see if they could fly, which they could.
I haven't been able to spot them in our flock since but I hope they're okay.

9th March 2023
Here comes the snow again reminding us Spring isn't arriving until the 20th!
It came on the 7th, melted and returned, melted and returned.

10th March 2023
Ow has ventured around to the front garden today to see what sustenance is on offer.

11th March 2023
Old boy Anubis giving us a cheeky tongue flick. Nice to see the lazy man out of bed!
