2021 Project 365 // Days 197 - 203

16th July 2021
I had to get a photo of these random tie-dye looking Pansys that have bloomed among all the normal purple and white ones!
We also got a new Cat Mint plant and the bees have been loving it, as demonstrated by this sweet guy.

17th July 2021
It was a paddling pool, ice lolly, book, parasol type of day.

18th July 2021
It's pretty hot for baths but we just had a cooler one because after having a bath every Sunday this year, I can't stop now!

19th July 2021
F*** your 'Freedom Day'!

20th July 2021
Its rare to see a sunset these days with it still being sunny when we go to bed,
but there was a foggy morning glow for today's sunrise.

21st July 2021
After a stressful day, I took the opportunity to use one of these awesome
7th Heaven with Born Free Foundation sheet masks and a cool bath!

22nd July 2021
Tiny garden visitors and multicoloured plants seem to sum up Summer in our garden so far.

2021 Project 365 // Days 190 - 196

9th July 2021
Updated shelfie, exactly 1 year on.
Scroll to see the awful colour our kitchen was when we moved in...

10th July 2021
This guy had set up camp in our garden waste bin,
but I thought they'd be happier in our flower bed so relocated them 🐌🖤

11th July 2021
Finally got the #TBH365 bath bomb and look how gorgeous it was!

'100% of the proceeds for this will be donated to The Black Curriculum, a social enterprise
committed to the teaching and support of Black History all year round. '

12th July 2021
How cute are these little worms that fell through my letterbox this morning?!
The wonderful Sara is raising money for beautiful little Edwin (her Chihuahua) to get life-saving heart surgery.
Her super talented Mother made these to help raise funds!
This is the GoFundMe link and I urge you to donate if you can 🖤

13th July 2021
Athena's new thing is that she just likes to come half out of her viv and chill where she is...

14th July 2021
The Hydrangea is finally in bloom!

15th July 2021
I think the person who wrote this recipe wasn't sure about the differences between tortillas and popadoms! haha
These turned out like a combination of the two but were still tasty with our curry.

2021 Project 365 // Days 183 - 189

2nd July 2021
Its always nice to have company when washing the dishes.
This young Thrush had a rest on our back fence this morning and then this afternoon
there were a few Mistle Thrush out the front eating berries from the tree.

3rd July 2021
A visit 'At the Hill of Goats' aka Ad Gefrin today and then also on to Maelmin Heritage Trail.
So good to be back experiencing history as well as the great outdoors in the most beautiful county in England - Northumberland.
These are important early medieval archaeological sites and I feel very lucky to have stood
where Northumbrian King's and Rulers (like St Oswald) once stood over 1000 years ago.
I'm looking forward to writing more about these magical places, sharing lots more photos on the blog soon.

4th July 2021
Sunday bath night much appreciated after a busy few days!

5th July 2021
Cracking into the crazy size/shape courgette from our greenhouse.
It was much better tasting than store-bought, just saying.

6th July 2021
Not 1, not even 2 but 5 Gold Finch all came for a very rainy breakfast this morning!
We have a pair that visit semi-regularly but I've never had more than 2 in the garden at once.
I had to stop mid-workout to grab a quick photo. So chuffed!

7th July 2021
This boy loves Beamish so much! And he's so good there.
Another lovely walk before our Friends of Beamish passes run out.
Baker got to see horses, ponies and a goat and we spotted a squirrel and bunny too!

We've decided that with the ridiculous change in 'restrictions' that we won't renew until at
least the Autumn/Winter and this will be our last time out in public again for a long while.
After the school holidays are over we may hopefully get out into the wilds at quiet times to walk but
after 16 months of staying at home why risk it now when things are going to get a lot more dangerous!

8th July 2021
Of course, Ad Gefrin didn't have a gift shop, haha, but we like to collect pins symbolising places
we visit so I found this beautiful wooden goat pin from Kettle & Quill on Etsy.
It arrived today and this is why I chose to shop from small artists.
It's a fantastic quality item, was so wonderfully packaged and the handwritten note
(on a postcard which will definitely be framed) made my day!

2021 Project 365 // Days 176 - 182

25th June 2021
Last year's 30 Days Wild I made a nature mandala out of petals and leaves from my garden, this year I'm sharing my feather collection. Obviously, I only pick up already lost feathers and those in the little jar have been found this month in my front garden!

26th June 2021
2 years down and we're entering year 3 at Hallow 'Manor'!
Each year we have taken a photo of the house, measuring the growth and progress of the beautiful garden.
Unfortunately for the photo, today has been the first out of the three years that it is pouring down but at least the plants are loving it!
Can you spy a little photo bomber at the window?
(Oh also, some of our plants are on the property line to next door so we aren't able to prune those.
And the bush taking over the bottom left window is intentional as it gives privacy,
a beautiful green glow to the kitchen and a wonderful view of the little birds playing from inside.)

27th June 2021
Last bath bomb of the month is the Ickle Baby Bot but I am not loving its new shape!
-
We've seen this little guy a few times now but was excited to get a photo of them caught red-handed today!
They 'eat' the bamboo screening on our fence and make quite a bit of noise while doing so!
Apparently, they fly off with it to make their nests.

28th June 2021
Our new bee hotel arrived today!
As excited as I am for it, I'm slightly annoyed I wasn't able to make my own as I love woodworking.
Earlier in the month, I attempted a birdhouse build, but the offcuts of wood we had had been warped from being outside so didn't work out.
Then the cost of wood and materials for that and bee lodgings wasn't good.
So we ended up having to go with the cheaper, less personal option for now...!
I'll make a birdhouse or two soon hopefully.

29th June 2021
For the penultimate day of 30 Days Wild, an update on our greenhouse etc.
Growing your own food is healthier for you and the planet, with more nutrients and no chemicals/pesticides, saves a little on carbon emissions as there is no long-distance transportation and it's fun to know exactly how your food got on your plate.
Hopefully next year we will have more time and maybe eventually our name will get called for an allotment!
(We signed up when we moved in 2 years ago, the list is apparently 7 years...)

30th June 2021
The final day of 30 Days Wild!!
I'm closing out this mini-project within a project with a visit to the Tweed.
I'm so glad I got to see all my river friends this morning. I used to live literally meters away
from this Riverside walk and interacted with all the birds, seals, otters etc every single day.
I haven't even seen a Swan properly in over a year so it was wonderful to be reunited!
Again, I took more photos than these which will be shared in a blog post.

1st July 2021
Our Born Free 'The Lion' and Virginia McKenna Roses from Harkness Roses arrived today!
I let Mam choose which she'd like and the other I've planted in our new Ladybird pot by the front door.
I can't believe the strength of its perfume. Very excited to see this continue to grow.
We preordered these in celebration of Virginia McKenna's 90th birthday
and £2.50 from each plant goes to The Born Free Foundation! Go check them out.
