What do you do when you're in a slump of depression?
Apparently, I buy 31 books, enough for one every day of the month.

 (Obviously, I cannot read one every day).

There has been a group of young Sparrows visiting the garden this past week or so.
There were 4 of them on the feeder and a couple on the ground, but by the time I got my camera
I only caught two. We've not had a bird feeder photo in almost 4 weeks so it's nice
to end the month with the busy bird feeder on a rainy day.

1st August 2021
When the first day of the month lands on a Sunday, we get to kick it off with a bomb!
Using the first bath bomb, the Love You 3000 Iron Man-inspired one,
from our latest haul from Tales of Toria!

A young little Dunnock took advantage of the break in bird traffic in the garden this afternoon. Beautiful!

I never know the time when the sun stays up late in Summer.

A beautiful white Pigeon has joined our breakfast (dinner and tea) flock!

A spur of the minute home update because I wanted to be rid of the hutch.
These are the current layouts with more upgrades coming soon.
They get out to have free roam of the house and they go into the garden too before people tell me how to care for my animals.
I wouldn't share the photo for sake of ridicule, but these are my daily photos for memories so I am.

The Queens of the Castle and their Thrones...🏰
Although traumatically we had to get rid of the cardboard castle we painstakingly made last year.
We need to work out a replacement.

Exciting parcel from Tales of Toria today!
Stocked up on the next 8 weeks worth of Sunday bath bombs.
We wanted an alternative to Lush but that was still cruelty-free and eco friendly but got lost in a sea of amazing small businesses.
The decision was made for us as @lifewithlaluna_ showed her hauls and it all looked fantastic!

The second photo is later in the afternoon when the thunderstorm rolled in...

Our sunflower finally opened!
Although the head is still small, not in your face pretty and the insanely sporadic weather has battered its leaves, it is still standing and alive.
A bit like me haha. Battered but here.
Our pumpkin plant is taking over the garden too!
We are the crazy, bird feeding, wild lawn growing, plant hoarding people around here
and I love how beautiful and full of life our gardens are.

I had to get a photo of these random tie-dye looking Pansys that have bloomed among all the normal purple and white ones! 
We also got a new Cat Mint plant and the bees have been loving it, as demonstrated by this sweet guy.

It's pretty hot for baths but we just had a cooler one because after having a bath every Sunday this year, I can't stop now!

Its always nice to have company when washing the dishes.
This young Thrush had a rest on our back fence this morning and then this afternoon
there were a few Mistle Thrush out the front eating berries from the tree.

A visit 'At the Hill of Goats' aka Ad Gefrin today and then also on to Maelmin Heritage Trail.
So good to be back experiencing history as well as the great outdoors in the most beautiful county in England - Northumberland.
These are important early medieval archaeological sites and I feel very lucky to have stood
where Northumbrian King's and Rulers (like St Oswald) once stood over 1000 years ago.
I'm looking forward to writing more about these magical places, sharing lots more photos on the blog soon.

Cracking into the crazy size/shape courgette from our greenhouse.
It was much better tasting than store-bought, just saying.

Not 1, not even 2 but 5 Gold Finch all came for a very rainy breakfast this morning!
We have a pair that visit semi-regularly but I've never had more than 2 in the garden at once.
I had to stop mid-workout to grab a quick photo. So chuffed!

This boy loves Beamish so much! And he's so good there.
Another lovely walk before our Friends of Beamish passes run out.
Baker got to see horses, ponies and a goat and we spotted a squirrel and bunny too!

We've decided that with the ridiculous change in 'restrictions' that we won't renew until at
least the Autumn/Winter and this will be our last time out in public again for a long while.
After the school holidays are over we may hopefully get out into the wilds at quiet times to walk but
 after 16 months of staying at home why risk it now when things are going to get a lot more dangerous!

Of course, Ad Gefrin didn't have a gift shop, haha, but we like to collect pins symbolising places
we visit so I found this beautiful wooden goat pin from Kettle & Quill on Etsy.
It arrived today and this is why I chose to shop from small artists.
It's a fantastic quality item, was so wonderfully packaged and the handwritten note
(on a postcard which will definitely be framed) made my day!
