2022 Project 365 // Days 106 - 112

16th April 2022
Such a lovely day at the centre today, with (as always) so many beautiful, wonderful cats.
Lumi and Charlie the sweetest best friend brothers, Tiger from last week who is one of the most
affectionate cats I've ever met and it's difficult to leave him because he loves the company and
attention so much - he has Cerebellar Hypoplasia but very mildly and it doesn't really affect him.
Then there's Minnie just a young little love whose owner didn't take her when they moved, poor girl,
and another brilliant, lovely sibling duo Honey and Penny.
Trevor was next and I don't know why but it seems that the boys have been the super
lovey-dovey cats of late and Trevor was a prime example of a lap cat!
Another pair of brothers who have literally been in care for 4 months now is Milo and Star.
I've no idea why they've been here so long because they are the most laid back, gentle,
pure little souls... Thankfully they are finally heading home soon!!
Last but not least is my first kitten of the season - Jaffa.
I don't know how I managed to get a photo of him sitting still because he was so playful.
As kittens should be.
When leaving the pens I make sure to tell every cat that they are loved. I hope they all thrive in their furrever homes.
Of course, it was Full Moon day too, so here's April's 'Pink' Moon.

17th April 2022
Worked out a way for both the piggies to be out in the garden at the same time but still separated.
This is the first photo of them 'together' I've gotten in years!
They also sat on our knees beside each other chatting without too much hostility.

18th April 2022
Carrot juice bath.

19th April 2022
The gardens are in bloom!
After losing the greenhouse, we repurposed the old hutch into a cold frame so we got it
filled and the courgette and cucumber plants transferred into it this past weekend.
We also got 2 of the new bird tables put out into the front and I had to get a photo of
the blossom tree in bloom because it doesn't last long!

20th April 2022
Anubis 🐍🌞
This boy is coming up approximately 22 years old in the coming weeks!
Our old boy is the most friendly, sociable and easy to handle of our 3 snakes and while cleaning
everyone out today, I thought I'd take him out to enjoy a little bit of sun for a few minutes.
I grabbed Mr H so I could get a few shots of Anubis loving his time outside ❤️

21st April 2022
Very sadly and very suddenly, Mr H's boss lost his dog a couple of weeks ago.
Knowing how much pets mean, we wanted to do something for him.

This is the second time Little Bear and Us has provided her talents and taken on our commission and I'll never be able to sing her praises highly enough.
The whole process is fantastic, from ideas and keeping me included with updates,
to the cutest packaging and incredible extra personal touches.
If you are looking for a gift or to treat yourself you will not be disappointed in choosing
Little Bear and Us to capture your pets, kids or the whole family 🎨🖤

22nd April 2022
Happy Earth Day!!! 🌍🖤
Every day is Earth day in our family, with how we treat
mother nature and our planet being a top priority.
Of course, we aren't perfect. No one is.
But we can all do our best to put the planet before ourselves when possible.

💚Go vegan. Reduce, reuse, recycle. Make do and mend. Grow your own. Choose sustainable options.
Ditch single-use plastic. Use cruelty-free, eco brands in your household and beauty products.
Create a garden tailored to wildlife. Upcycle. Buy secondhand. Limit water usage. Don't litter.
Support carbon neutral companies. Be mindful of your travel. Be conscious of gas & electricity use. 💚

Do what you can and spread the word. We only have one planet, let's try to save it.

2022 Project 365 // Days 99 - 105

9th April 2022
My CP pals today were the incredibly loving and loves attention Tiger,
Salem who came in so matted he had to be almost fully shaved
(he was a little babe and kept trying to get into my fluffy spirit jersey),
the sweetest sisters Peggy and Millie,
intensely affectionate and playful Dennis
and beautiful Bobby who is FIV+ and didn't want too much of a fuss
but let me talk to him for a while 🖤

10th April 2022
Planting out and piggy playtime 🌞🌻🐹
Mr H got the kale and tomato seedlings planted out, they've shot up!
It's going to be weird having no greenhouse this year but I started off some seeds to take inside too.
Takeaway tubs make for good seed storage btw!

11th April 2022
Not had a sunrise or sunset photo for a while.
This morning's wasn't too bad.

12th April 2022
Drip, drip, drop, little April showers 💧🌧️

13th April 2022
A walk to the castle while up home to visit Mam and Dad.
So many more photos (58), which will be in a blog future blog post.

14th April 2022
DIYing bargain £5.00 bird tables!
Last month I grabbed one of these bird tables when I was up visiting my parents.
I painted it and did it up, then I wanted more...so Mr H phoned to buy 2 more for Mam to collect.
I picked them up yesterday and started work on the new pair.
How much better do they look once not bright orange?!
I've been after a bird table for years but they're so expensive.
These are the perfect size for the little birds and we have a grate to put on
the sides to protect them from the big birds who already have first pickings!

(As for the decking, we stained it when we moved in but because
it had been in a while and never treated, the stain has worn to this mess.)

15th April 2022
The second species of Ladybug spotted in the garden so far this year.

2022 Project 365 // Days 92 - 98

2nd April 2022
Today was Craft for Cats!
Obviously, Saturday is my day at Cats Protection so I didn't join the live stream but
instead did a little in the morning and completed it later in the day.
I didn't want to show favourites so didn't depict one cat or the other and
instead just took inspiration from both Eos and Aurora 🐈🐈

My lovely little buddies at CP today were the wonderful
Luna, Princess Carolyn, Nahla, Cleo, Gillian & Keith and Darcy 🖤

3rd April 2022
Trying to soothe my achy back and joints with a bubble bath.
This poor bunny arrived pretty banged up but I've always been known to
love the damaged and unwanted so they're in the right place 🐇🌟

4th April 2022
Life!! 🌿
Finally, the trees and plants don't look so sad.
So excited for our gardens to be alive again and re-welcome all our wild visitors.
The sound of bees, the colour of ladybugs, the nighttime camera capture of the hedgehogs.
🖤 The best!

5th April 2022
Our favourite chocolate brand had done it again!
These Cookie Dough Bunnies are the best thing ever!!
I was a huge chocoholic and it was the last thing I got rid of from my diet when going vegan.
So much so I was vegan with everything except chocolate for a couple of years.
Thank goodness for @nomochocolate because we can buy a big pack on their website
meaning I have a little supply in the cupboard for when I need a pick me up.
Hopefully, I can make these last a while... 😂🐇

While I'm on the subject, please make sure your gifts this Spring are vegan chocolate bunnies and not live rabbits!!
Small animals have much more complex needs than people think and far too many
are abandoned and cast aside once a child loses interest.

6th April 2022
The first failed Beamish visit of the year 🙄
I had checked and checked and checked when school holidays were and every one in the North East wasn't until the 8th.
I guess all the Southerner's schools were off though and half of them had decided that Beamish was where they were going. 😭
We almost just turned and left before we went in, but against better judgement, we headed in so Baker could have his much-anticipated walk.
It was far too overwhelming, especially now that no one cares about CvD, masks or giving anyone respect and personal space.
I know it's outdoors and for most people, it wouldn't have been that busy but for me, I can't cope with it.
We walked a route that not many people tend to go, got caught in a random rainstorm
(yet again with no coats for Baker or me) and rushed back to the exit where I ended up having to take my inhaler.

We did get to see a Red Kite and Baker got his walk I guess.
But the joys of Spring and Summer are lost on us now.
I hope Beamish will in the future perhaps bring in a day or two per month designated purely for disabled,
autistic and elderly people where people show more empathy and respect to those who still want
to enjoy these places without being overwhelmed with noise and crowds.
Oh, and if you see people wearing masks try to resist the need to go toward them
and particularly don't cough at them!
No wonder I hate people.

7th April 2022
Aurora 🐈🖤

8th April 2022
What I read last quarter.
