2023 Daily Photos // Days 15 - 21

15th January 2023
Theadore, Nougat, Blossom, Thomas and Ziggy were the lights of my life today!
All but Thomas are the most cuddly, kissy, people-loving cats.
Poor Thomas is having a hard time. He had an eye removed due to a tumor and is struggling in the centre, feeling scared and staying in his hide most of the time.
These are the cats I volunteer for.
I spent 45 minutes sitting in the front of his pen just reading The Wizard of Oz to him.
We had a few slow blinks and I managed to hold my phone up (from over a meter away and zoomed in) to snap a quick photo of him without any upset.
He's an absolute darling and I hope he ends up in an extra special home.

A pretty sunset to end the day too.

16th January 2023
The snow came back, but at least it brought an abundance of birds to eat!

17th January 2023
Took Baker for a walk to Whitley Bay today.
Neither of us have visited in a few years, and considering he grew up walking the coast of Blyth to Whitley Bay it was nice to take him back.

It was lovely weather and we got lucky seeing some fab birds including:
Black Headed Gull, Redshank, Lapwing, Grey Heron, Gadwall Duck, Mallard, Coot, Greylag Goose.
The Exmoor Ponies were also there hard at work!

18th January 2023
Another sunset.

19th January 2023
New bedding out on the line! The sun was warm enough to dry a few bits today!

20th January 2023
My daily visting pal 'Ow', as named by Eos.

21st January 2023
Another frosty day. You can never predict it.

2023 Daily Photos // Days 8 - 14

8th January 2023
My October-December reads!

9th January 2023
Today's sunrise.

10th January 2023
We visited South Shields Museum today!
I'd not been for years, since I was in college, but have wanted to go with Mr H since we moved here and today was the day. It's worth a visit if you're in the area.

11th January 2023
Just look at that perfect little lady.

12th January 2023
A couple new creature friends joined the household from our quick charity shop visit on Tuesday.

13th January 2023
Hello there!

14th January 2023
It's too cold for Aurora. She hates winter.
The heating wasn't even on and she was hugging the heater bless her.
It's not like they don't have multiple beds and blankets all over the house...

2023 Daily Photos // Days 1 - 7

1st January 2023
What a way to start the year - seeing the first sunrise of 2023 at Marsden Bay!
For more photos and a little more waffling see this blog post - The First Sunrise of 2023
An extra whammy of awesome to start the year as it was also my Cats Protection Day!
I got lots of love from Frankie, Petra (who was previously called Pheobe*), Hector & Hugo, and Athena.
From when I first met Athena until now, she has become a different cat. Originally she was in pain and equated human contact to bad things like vet visits and getting medication, however shes in less pain now and showing that she really does want love, having cuddles on my knee and enjoying a nice stroke before settling down to rest.

* Sometimes cats may have to have their names changed if there are multiple cats in the centre around the same time.

2nd January 2023
The first book of 2023 was a powerful, beautiful, important piece of art that shines a light on such poignant issues as climate change, our wildlife and how migration, country borders and unjust laws affect the lives of so many humans. Highly reccommend.

3rd January 2023
Snagging my first proper bird photos of the year while up in Berwick for the day.
A Wagtail, Golden Eyes, Cormorants, Rock Doves and Mallards!

4th January 2023
My latest lino print attempt. Decided I didn't like the cutout corners so sponged them in ha!

5th January 2023
We booked tickets in mid-November for this and it accidentally ended up coinsiding with the last day of 12 Days Wild!
Coal and Ice was an ice sculpture trail around Woodhorn Mining Museum in Ashington, shining a light on the impact that climate change is having on our precious planet and wonderful wildlife. Lots more photos to come on my main blog soon!

6th January 2023
The quickest we've ever done a jigsaw!

7th January 2023
It wasn't a great day today but at least I got this cute photo of a sleepy Baker.
