What a way to start the year - seeing the first sunrise of 2023 at Marsden Bay!
For more photos and a little more waffling see this blog post - The First Sunrise of 2023
An extra whammy of awesome to start the year as it was also my Cats Protection Day!
I got lots of love from Frankie, Petra (who was previously called Pheobe*), Hector & Hugo, and Athena.
From when I first met Athena until now, she has become a different cat. Originally she was in pain and equated human contact to bad things like vet visits and getting medication, however shes in less pain now and showing that she really does want love, having cuddles on my knee and enjoying a nice stroke before settling down to rest.
* Sometimes cats may have to have their names changed if there are multiple cats in the centre around the same time.

The first book of 2023 was a powerful, beautiful, important piece of art that shines a light on such poignant issues as climate change, our wildlife and how migration, country borders and unjust laws affect the lives of so many humans. Highly reccommend.

5th January 2023
We booked tickets in mid-November for this and it accidentally ended up coinsiding with the last day of 12 Days Wild!
Coal and Ice was an ice sculpture trail around Woodhorn Mining Museum in Ashington, shining a light on the impact that climate change is having on our precious planet and wonderful wildlife. Lots more photos to come on my main blog soon!
