26th February 2026
Our lovely female Blackbird has been visiting a lot recently
My embroidery project I finished last night.

27th February 2026
The first House Spider friend of the season! It's warming up!
The moon was beautiful tonight too.

28th February 2026
Took Baker out in his buggy for a short walk down Whitburn and saw my first Dandelion of the season!
So many firsts this week. I'm a little sad Winter is coming to an end.

1st March 2026
My January medal arrived. I'm a little diappointed as I think the artwork may be AI for this year's series and obviously I never usually like to support any use of AI. I am subscribed for a year, my third year, but won't continue next year if this is the case.

See more here.
Plus Wood Pigeon pal (who really needs a name at this point) and La Luna through the trees!

3rd March 2026
Stuck at home on World Wildlife Day, I decided to read a short Jane Goodall book while sat in the garden and took in all the emerging life. Spring really is charging its way in and I'm already mourning the dark evenings and slow, quiet ways of Winter.

4th March 2026
Then I noticed my WP pal back in their tree and with a new partner! (Their previous love was killed last year).
Tonight while out in the garden with Baker I also spied my first caterpillar of the season. I'm still not great at moth and butterfly ID, but after copious internet searches and many a page flicked of my Moths and Butterflies guide, I'm still no closer to an identification. If you are caterpillar/larvae minded, I'd love to know your thoughts. I think they were at least 6+cm.
