Day 2 of decorating, and Baker has had enough.

New sofa day! Our last sofa was a cheap two-seater I've had for over 10 years, with a broken foot making it tilt and lots of other signs of age. We feel spoiled having so much room to fully relax on this new one. 

12th August 2025
We lost Calypso today. Just under 7 weeks since we lost her sister, Nyx.
They should have lived to be 15, especially considering the environment we provided for them. However, we have learned that these days they are bred to look a certain way (just like other species, such as dogs) with no regard to their long-term health. 
She was given the same rights as all our other pets and was buried as her sister was.
Nyx's wildflowers are almost ready to bloom, reaching over to welcome her sissy.

Mam and I sat and listened to some vinyl today. Yep, day 3 of life not leaving my bed.

17th July 2025
This was my first time seeing the sky in four days. I stood up to look out the window.

I finally managed to get downstairs and had a quick nip outside to check on my Caterpillars...
and my car, after the neighbour crashed into it while it was parked outside my house yesterday :(

19th July 2025

A gorgeous day of rain! So needed and appreciated!
I had to be home alone today for the first time in almost a week,
which was difficult, but the rainy day helped.

Lovely little Spider has set up its web in a very clever place!

I got to see the Spider who lives in the Oak leaf out in the open today!

The first (that we have seen) Caterpillar has begun the ascent!

You may think that Climate Change is fun and you're loving burning your skin, but we are suffering.
Animals don't have a say in what is happening. All animals, pets and wildlife, livestock and other captives are struggling across the world in extreme temperatures.
We do what we can for our pets, but it still sucks to see them have to deal with the effects humans have imposed on the planet.

One day recently, I went into the garden and saw a new leaf on the Oak sapling curled under as if stuck. So I tried to gently unfurl it...to be surprised by a little Garden Spider who'd made it their home!
Today I managed to get a sneak peek inside - I love what they've done with the place haha.

5th July 2025
This little Soldier Beetle(?) got stuck in the birdbath despite all my efforts to stop that.
I fished them out and, rather than be transferred to a planet, they decided to hang around on my hand drying off and 'grooming' for a good 10 minutes or so. Then they took off! 
A lovely morning interaction. 

6th July 2025 
There's been a couple of Sparrow dads bringing their little families to the front garden lately, and it's so magical to hear them all playing, eating, bathing, etc. 
We also have 7 new clutches of Butterfly eggs all laid today! Five are shown in the photos, and another two were spotted later in the evening.
