2021 Project 365 // Days 232 - 238

20th August 2021
πŸ¦‹

21st August 2021
Not only are my daily photo opportunities/ideas non-existent just now, our cupboards have also been bare for days.
Thankfully I'd had the few bits to scape together a Paella for tonight's tea.

22nd August 2021
Sunday bath day comes round again.

23rd August 2021
Little man's birthday is flying in... Annual banner-making has been completed.
Only a few days to go...😭

24th August 2021
A wonderful Crow chorus greeted us upon getting up this morning.
We've also been getting visits from this very beat up looking Magpie.
Poor thing is even more flighty than most (rightly so it seems),
so I only managed this one sneaky snap before they took off.

25th August 2021
I can't believe this guy is 9 already!
We celebrated a day early as his Daddy is at work tomorrow and although his Granny and Granda were only able to watch him open his
presents over webcam, we still had a (super healthy πŸ˜‚, vegan) picky tea...along with special pup cakes for Baker made by Daddy.
I wish time would slow down, life is too short and my baby is getting old too quickly.

26th August 2021
You know you've got a good dog when he was born on International Dog Day!
Happy 9th birthday my son/best friend, Baker.
It's mad to think this lad has been with me a third of my life, we've known each other longer than anyone in my life obviously apart from my parents.
Non-dog parents probably don't get it but I don't know where I'd be if it wasn't for the unconditional love and support he has given me.
I dread to think of the day he's no longer by my side, though of course, it's difficult not to think of when the years are passing so quickly.

'' Having a dog will bless you with many of the happiest days of your life, and one of the worst. '' πŸΎπŸ–€πŸΎ

2021 Project 365 // Days 225 - 231

13th August 2021
What great timing! The best post to receive for Friday the 13th!
Love these cuties from Grimly Fiendish Crafts.

14th August 2021
What an absolutely beautiful, tiny little snail I came across while weeding the garden border today.
They were like a little gemstone. If only the camera could pick up what eyes do.

15th August 2021
We were transported to the Island of Motunui with the scent of this Heart of Te Fiti bath bomb 🏝️😍

16th August 2021
I haven't shared the individual book I was reading, in my daily photos, since way back in March!
This is my 33rd book of the year and yes, I did buy the set ready to start after we finished watching the Disney+ show.
I'm a bit behind on my reading in comparison to last year, but it's been a time and although we still read in bed every single night,
I don't get my afternoon read in the car anymore since Mr H switched jobs which is a miss.
What are you reading?

17th August 2021
Castle ruin exploration, family grave visit and a trip to the farm where Mam grew up during today's time at Berwick.
It's mad that just a 70 mile drive up to my hometown there are so many options for adventures.
After last Wednesday's absolute fail of a walk where we live I needed this.
Lovely time with Mam in my favourite place.

18th August 2021
I always think of my Nana and Granda, but after having visited the farm where Granda
was a shepherd and where my Mam grew up yesterday I thought about him extra today.
His old crook and whistle sit in my living room and I'm very happy to have them.

19th August 2021
Today is World Photography Day and I had an awful day, so I've been looking back at some of my old wildlife photography work.
I did actually used to be a photographer (as in it was my job).
I've done studio work, family portraits, pet portraits, weddings and sold wildlife photography in calendars.
I wouldn't say I miss the human interaction but I definitely miss the animal encounters I've been lucky to have.
Of course, I wish I could have way more and have the opportunity to get shots others do but it's nice to look back on old photos.

2021 Project 365 // Days 218 - 224

6th August 2021
A random rainbow as the sunset saved me from having no photo for the day.

7th August 2021
Finally got some time today to work more on the jigsaw we started months ago.

8th August 2021
Sisu inspired bath today! It smelt so good!

9th August 2021
We could open a spider zoo with all the species we've had in our back garden recently.
This guy has been calling our garden waste bin home.
I'm not a fan of spiders, especially in the house, but I can appreciate them all the same.
Sorry if this photo makes you uncomfortable!

10th August 2021
They're finally starting to turn red!
Being so far North, coupled with climate change has meant a lot of our homegrown is much further behind many others.
We've had loads of tomatoes for a while but they're only just starting to turn red.
I don't even like tomatoes πŸ˜‚

11th August 2021
Not that you can tell from these photos, but this was the most disappointing, depressing attempted walk these whole 18 months.

We were excited to get up at 5am and drive the 12 minutes down to the beach in the hopes of a quiet, early morning walk before the people flooded the streets.
However, for some reason it was heaving.
Walkers, runners, cyclists, paddle boarders, swimmers, dog walkers and even people out with kids.
I've never seen anywhere so busy at 5.30am on a Wednesday.

I took the first photo from my boot, then got back in the car.
We tried another beach just down the road - also jumping.
Our 3rd and final stop to try and salvage our morning was an old regular spot of ours but by this point, I was gutted and crying.
We walked 0.1 of a mile. An absolute waste of a morning and it broke my heart, to tell the truth.

Yeah, I've done it to myself not going out and avoiding all people but I do not miss anything except being able to go for a walk.
Its lovely people have gained an appreciation for the outdoors this past year, but it feels like my only escape and a main source of happiness has been stolen from me.
Living where we do, to get to anywhere worth going (that would be actually quiet, even early mornings) it's over an hours drive. I miss Berwick.

It's so frustrating that the world seems to be back to 'normal' but it isn't at all for some of us.
I prefer shopping online, I like not having to go to stores or socialise or do anything near other humans but it's hard not even being able to go for a walk.
I don't care if you're sick of me moaning or if you think I need to 'stop wasting my life because its too short',
I don't need to hear advice or info or fake facts about how vaccines are saving the world and mean I'm not at risk.
Just take a second to put yourself in other people's shoes and wonder if you'd be depressed too.
I am petrified of getting ill and/or dying and have lived with bad anxiety and depression for over 15 years now so just manning up isn't an option.
Ahh well. Ramble over.

At least we got our monthly portrait.
(Although if that isn't proof that you can smile and still be depressed I don't know what is.)

12th August 2021
We get a lot of Rock Doves (Pigeons) and Wood Pigeons among all the other awesome species visiting our garden, but in the past 8 days,
we've been visited by two different White Pigeons! So out of the blue.
You can see the photo of the first one who had tiny markings on it from the 4th and this is the second one who was completely white!

2021 Project 365 // Days 211 - 217

30th July 2021
What do you do when you're in a slump of depression?
Apparently, I buy 31 books, enough for one every day of the month.

(Obviously, I cannot read one every day).

31st July 2021
There has been a group of young Sparrows visiting the garden this past week or so.
There were 4 of them on the feeder and a couple on the ground, but by the time I got my camera
I only caught two. We've not had a bird feeder photo in almost 4 weeks so it's nice
to end the month with the busy bird feeder on a rainy day.

1st August 2021
When the first day of the month lands on a Sunday, we get to kick it off with a bomb!
Using the first bath bomb, the Love You 3000 Iron Man-inspired one,
from our latest haul from Tales of Toria!

2nd August 2021
A young little Dunnock took advantage of the break in bird traffic in the garden this afternoon. Beautiful!

3rd August 2021
I never know the time when the sun stays up late in Summer.

4th August 2021
A beautiful white Pigeon has joined our breakfast (dinner and tea) flock!

5th August 2021
A spur of the minute home update because I wanted to be rid of the hutch.
These are the current layouts with more upgrades coming soon.
They get out to have free roam of the house and they go into the garden too before people tell me how to care for my animals.
I wouldn't share the photo for sake of ridicule, but these are my daily photos for memories so I am.
