2024 Daily Photos // Days 22 - 28

22nd January 2024
Winds are still high. Birds are hovering or taking shelter. At least it's dry and bright.

23rd January 2024
Little guy from the 21st is now a resident at the Hallow Rehab.
They aren't injured thankfully, however, they are young and seem to have not been able to cope with the insanely high winds and stormy weather.
They'll rest up, eat, drink and gain some strength for a little while.
We've named them Zephyr (God of the West Wind).

24th January 2024
A few snaps from our trip up to Berwick.
Lots more to come in a blog post on the main blog soon.

25th January 2024
The first Full Moon of 2024, the Wolf Moon.

26th January 2024
Pop over here to see and read more >> Big Garden Birdwatch 2024

27th January 2024
Sunrise.

28th January 2024
Our field mice friends!
Obviously, they don't leave or hibernate or anything, but we see them much less in Winter.
So it's lovely to see them.

2024 Daily Photos // Days 15 - 21

15th January 2024
Our poor Snow Dragon had his snout missing!
Funnily he smelt very good though.

16th January 2024
A wild day at the wetlands! On top of the collection birds, we also clocked 35 wild bird species and 3 deer!
Extra exciting species within those sightings were Jay, Kestrel and a Water Rail (my first ever sighting of one!)

17th January 2024
Beorn!

18th January 2024
It's always Halloween in the Hallow household.

19th January 2024
Beautiful Bean.

20th January 2024
The first in my 'medal a month' Great British Wildlife Series!
Cracked out a 10k on the 13th and my medal arrived today.

21st January 2024
This little guy was all by itself this afternoon.
My pigeons usually all come in the morning, together. A minimum of about 20ish.
Sometimes a few turn back up later but never completely alone so I kept an eye.
I went out to throw more food for it but it went out the gate and was huddled by the wall.
Then it just disappeared.
Hopefully, they're okay as they still seem quite young and not a strong flier.

2024 Daily Photos // Days 8 - 14

8th January 2024
Taking photos for my last quarterly reading wrap-up of 2023 as well as getting a shot of everything I read last year altogether. (Minus 1 book that was too big, ebooks and audiobooks obviously).

9th January 2024
I only took this photo to see what kind of Helicopter was hovering overhead and because the birds seemed to be flying very close to it! It turned out to be National Grid! I didn't even realize they had helicopters.

10th January 2024
We were out of the house today and of course, the one time I didn't have my camera... there's a rainbow!

11th January 2024
How awful is it that I took no photos of Hades at all on the proper camera last year?
I'm ashamed of myself. So today he had a little photoshoot!

12th January 2024
Some back fence visitors while washing up.
The male Sparrow and Robin were having a bit of a battle over the bird table!

13th January 2024
Oh, what's that the third set of sky photos this week? haha
Two from sunrise and two from sunset!

14th January 2024
The only fish you'll catch me eating!
