A day full of cat hugs at Cats Protection today!
Poor little Theadore is still waiting to find a furever home but he's always so happy to see anyone! 
Nena (apparently pronounced Nina...) was the lovey-est girl, who I could barely get a photo of
because all she did was kiss me, though I was lucky to catch a slow-blink on photo.
Mama is a 13-year-old lady who has the cutest little excited meow (see a video here) was another absolute sweetheart, as was Penelope Flipflop!
Penelope has recently had surgery but you'd never know because she was the wiggliest little worm working hard at the biscuit factory and snuggling in. 

We ended the day with an insane sunset.
Both photos were taken minutes apart, one from the back of our house and the other from the front.

We loved this jigsaw! One of two new ones Dad got me after my hospital appointment.
It's not only animals, but it's also rainbow-coloured and was super fun!
Smashed it in just under an hour and a quarter.

Mr H caught me up in age today. 
He always has chocolate or vanilla cake because its all I like, so I wanted to make something just for him.
This was my first-ever attempt at a coffee and walnut cake*. He said he liked it!

*indeed it is also vegan!

Smokey Joe was having a bit of a hard time after a vet visit so we just sat and read The Lord of the Rings for a while.
Michael gave me lots of lovely gentle hugs and kissies, and although it doesn't look like it
Bonkers Donkers & Fizzy Fifi had lots of playtime and cuddles too!

Usually, I take multiple shots to get a photo but with this one, once I'd taken it the sun had moved and so I had to make do with this one shot.
I've meant to get a photo of this lush art print from Ellis Woolley Illustration for a while
and the way the sun shone in the window today gave me the opportunity.

My anxiety has been through the roof lately because tomorrow I have a hospital appointment.
I've only said it a million times, but the sea is so healing to me and so I was lucky enough to be able to go for a walk in the sea at Whitburn Beach today.
There weren't many birds around and of course, rockpools aren't the wildlife treasure troves they were when I was a kid,
but we did meet a few special creatures on our adventure.

My Dad has been getting into the lino kit we got him recently and while I waiting to leave for my appointment I helped him print his first two!

After helping Dad I wanted to crack out my lino-cutting stuff and do another,
so to go with my Raven that I did in January I made a wolf.
