1st October 2023
Usually today we'd begin decorating for Halloween. 
However, as we're off on Honeymoon in about a week we're waiting until we get back to decorate.
This is as spooky as it gets for now...which is our normal just with an added gorde.

Got the opportunity to get a quick snap of our old man Anubis today.
He's pretty much fully blind now hence the white eyes but he's still going strong.

Popped up to Berwick today to get Siobhan the nail magician to work her magic on my nails for Honeymoon.
I haven't had my nails done since we got married - 4 years ago!!

24th September 2023
Yesterday was the official first day of Autumn and usually, I like to go for a proper nature walk
to celebrate the first day of each season but we didn't manage it this weekend.
I tried to find something within lens-range of our garden today to represent Autumn though and 
this tree out the back obliged.
As much as I enjoy Autumn and it does have a lot of beauty too, it does make me sad when 
everything starts to die off.

We got some Lorcana!
After everything sold out and we missed it's release on ShopDisney, we didn't think to 
try anywhere else. Then we decided we really wanted some so Mr H tracked some down 
in a semi-local toy stop.
It's not the sets we wanted but hopefully, we can grab some more soon.
Looking forward to playing some games!

Another wonderful day at the Wetlands!
The Magpie Goose made my day today when it seemed to remember us
and came running over to the fence talking away to us.
The Otters were in great form too, eating and playing with their rocks.

Mr Blue Tit was checking out the birdhouse today...

I also spent some time watching the bees on the ever-thriving Nasturtiums. 
All of a sudden this one looped around and ended up caught in our big garden spider's web!
Usually, I wouldn't interfere in nature but as I was right there as it happened,
and bees are so special, I had to help free them.

It was a pretty gloomy day again today so the photos aren't great, but the Starlings and Sparrows 
were back and forth from the feeders all day!

We have a fantastic Farplace Animal Rescue Charity Shop near us and love to keep an eye for a few 
things in particular: books, animal ornaments and frames.
Often the frames we like come with artwork and photos still in them and I can't bring myself to get rid 
of any of it. We have a folder with pictures people have drawn to photos of pet dogs.
This is an oil painting on canvas that we had to hang on the wall. Isn't it beautiful?!
On the back of the frame, it says  'Scotland by Mildred Shutt'.

I can't pretend that I'm only just starting the Honeymoon planning,
but I have started to write it up in our special planner.

Our last visit to Washington Wetlands of Summer.
We didn't get to visit during August so it was wonderful to still get a chance to spy a few Common Darters (dragonflies)!
Some recent additions to the wetlands, the Bewick Swans, were a huge reason for our visit today too and they were beautiful as expected.
It was well and truly a day full of the signs of both Summer and Autumn and I'm
excited to see how the landscape continues to change in the following months.

The little garden birds have been out in full force recently.
Beautiful little Blue Tit having a bath this afternoon.
We also have a Garden Spider who has set up camp in the Nasturtiums, so mesmerizing to watch.
