Back Through the Lens - Week 22

Welcome back to my new series 'Back Through the Lens'. Click here to see week 1 and read all about what is going on. The short explanation is that 2020 is my 8th year of documenting my life through photos and so I'm looking back at this exact week over the past 7 years to compare them! This is week 22.

2013 - 5th June
No matter how much I try I've never been able to get a photo like this again.

2014 - Week 22
Galaxy chocolate cupcakes just because.

2015 - 3rd June
When some family friends came up from Wallsall to visit,
one of the days we all went out for a walk at Chain Bridge,

2016 - 27th May
Apparently, it was a very mizzly day but that didn't stop the Herons coming out in force.

2017 - 2nd June
Pigeon pals for the start of 30 Days Wild!

2018 - 30th May
A pair of House Martins attempting to start building a nest right outside my parents window.

2019 - 3rd June
Some no-so-cute street art out at Cullercoats.

2020 Project 366 // Days 141 - 147

20th May 2020
Green-fingered husband saving the dying aloe plant.

21st May 2020
Were a family of book worms. Or perhaps book snakes...

22nd May 2020
Took the opportunity while it was quiet to have a little walk after dropping Mr H off at work.
I'm so sad that everything we enjoyed has been tainted because everyone has decided to invade natural spaces with current circumstances.

23rd May 2020
Not included a photo in this project since we repainted the kitchen.
Mars and Argo got their hutch done to match. It looks so much better than it did!

24th May 2020
A game day before Mr H has to go back to work tomorrow :(
We've always been a boardgame/jigsaw etc couple so lockdown hasn't changed anything!

25th May 2020
Day 1 of Mammy being home alone with all 10 animals again. Bakers face says it all.

26th May 2020
Queen of the Castle 🏰

Back Through the Lens - Week 21

Welcome back to my new series 'Back Through the Lens'. Click here to see week 1 and read all about what is going on. The short explanation is that 2020 is my 8th year of documenting my life through photos and so I'm looking back at this exact week over the past 7 years to compare them! This is week 21.

2013 - 30th May
My last night living in Blyth.

2014 - Week 21
The only photo this week not involving water is my cousin showing off her dance skills.

2015 - 22nd May
You're pretty lucky when this is a 3-minute walk from your front door.

2016 - 22nd May
I walked out into the middle of the river (when the tide was out) to get this photo.

2017 - 25th May
An almost daily sight, a Cormorant in flight.

2018 - 26th May
After I moved back in with my parents my usual 8-minute walk to work...
turned into a 40-minute walk, meaning having to leave around 5am.

2019 - 21st May
A lovely little Mallard family on a sunny day at QE lake, Ashington.

2020 Project 366 // Days 134 - 140

13th May 2020
Bye-bye blue!!
10 months we've been in this house and we're getting there in transforming it into more our taste.
I still have no idea why someone would paint their kitchen a typically bathroom blue, but it's gone anyway!
5 rooms done. 2 more to go!

14th May 2020
🐝

15th May 2020
A horrible photo of a beautiful Thrush.

16th May 2020
Our first walk since February 23rd - 83 days. (104 days since we were at a beach!) -
We got up even earlier than usual, went out early but still there were too many people for my anxiety.
40 mins, 1.5 miles and some sea air.
It may have been tainted by humans tipping my heart rate to 120bpm (we got new fitness trackers if you couldn't guess)
but at least I got to feel the earth on my feet, talk to the birds and get some exercise.
I'm sad that walks will never be the same again.
It sucks we'll never enjoy deserted beaches or empty forests anymore because now people who have never
walked are crowding anywhere they can because they feel trapped at home.
So I guess next time we'll just have to go at 4am and maybe beat some crowds...

17th May 2020
Not the most comfortable place for a nap!

18th May 2020
New phone day.
I'm not someone to be bothered about having fancy phones, it actually freaks me out to be carrying around something expensive.
However, my Samsung Galaxy A3 has been steadily giving up and Mr H decided to get me a new Huawei!
This is my first upload using that new phone (I shoot my photos on a Nikon D7100) so I'm getting used to how to use it haha.

19th May 2020
Our new (old) birdbath for the regular garden visitors.
The roses have started to bloom in the front garden too.
