Lovely little Blue Tit got to enjoy the pick of the 3 bush feeders all to himself today!
(and just as I post this a very skinny little Robin has stopped by too!)

My best friends this Saturday were Peter, Grace, Rory and Oscar & Baby Girl.
It was my 3rd week in a row hanging out with Peter but fingers crossed he should be
going home soon because he misses his brothers and loves to play and hug so much.
Rory too has been at the centre a while and goodness knows why - he's such a distinguished gentleman!

 Every single cat I have the pleasure of spending time with completely steals my heart
and if you live in the North East and have room in your family I implore you to pop onto the
Cats Protection Tyneside Adoption Centre website and have a look at all the wonderful babies
waiting for their forever homes 🐈🖤

After getting my final course results back on November 21st, I finally received my final certificate on Saturday!
It might not be a degree or PhD, I never wanted to do and couldn't think of anything worse
for me than the whole uni thing anyway, but I still like to learn.
Excited to have completed this with a distinction and I can't wait to start my next two courses.

My 8th and final medal of the year arrived today.
Glad it's the participation that counts and not funds raised because I'm a big failure on that front.

I wish I were rich so I could give so much more to the causes I support.

2021 Project 365 // Days 337 - 343

 

3rd December 2021
Over 282 days, in 200 runs, I completed 828 miles
virtually around the Ring Road of Iceland almost completely from inside my living room.

My medal arrived today.
This is my 2nd Conqueror challenge this year, my 7th medal of 2021 and I've clocked over 1031 miles so far since January 1st.
This has all been done with arthritis, asthma and chronic pain with the odd week off to rest.

I used to hate Saturdays but now I have my CP buddy time to look forward to.
Bear, Peter*, Tux and Mowi made my day today.

* I visited Peter last week with his brothers Woody and Hercules, but they have both
gone to their forever homes now, so the two of us had some lovely playtime and hugs.

We wanted to get a Jim Shore for Halloween/Our Anniversary this year but the budget said no.
 However, I'm glad we had to wait because this Black Friday we got an extra special treat -
an ornament signed by thee Jim Shore!!
So excited to have these guys in our collection and yes, our Halloween 'decor' stays up year-round.

I don't like tea or coffee at all so the cool Disney mugs I collect aren't used to drink from.
However, when I saw this one I knew I needed it for hot chocolate season!

Our whole family hates these cold, dark winter days (or pre-winter because it's technically still Autumn), but Aurora definitely hates it the most.

Every single bird that visits our gardens make my day, however, there is always something extra special about a visit from a Robin.
They are such magical little beings ✨

This is your reminder to defrost your birdbaths or make sure you provide a
source of water for birds this winter as puddles etc freeze over.

New camera day.
Excitement and terror are in equal amounts.

 In my 18ish years of using DSLRs, I have owned 3 Nikons and used
1 Canon while working in a studio about 13ish years ago, which I wasn't a fan of.

My D7100 is now over 6.5 years old and on its way out so on the camera hunt I fell for the Canon 90D promo video.
It's a huge change that I'm not good with and my feelings have gone from regretting switching
to the dark side and anger at myself for not wanting to re-learn a whole new shooting system.
I guess it's going to take a while to get used to and I hope it ends up being a good decision in the end.

1st December 2021
The first photos on the new camera ended up useless.
I couldn't work out how to switch it to RAW, I had 5 minutes before an appointment
and it was blowing a gale!
I'll go back to Bell Tower and the Gun Tower again to try to get some better shots,
but these will have to do as I took nothing else for today.

2nd December 2021
Worked out how to switch to RAW but it's still going to take time to get used to this new camera.
So far I am not getting the Canon hype, it doesn't seem any better than Nikon.
However, it's great to have working autofocus again!
