2021 Project 365 // Days 22 - 28

22nd January 2021
The girls have never been interested in any cat TV, until today and now Eos is obsessed.

23rd January 2021
So many birds came to visit us today (many not pictured).
I bet you next weekend they're all in hiding because this always seems to happen every year for the Big Garden Bird Watch!

[PS. Remember to break the ice on your birdbath every morning! They need water and many puddles etc are also frozen over.]

24th January 2021
Our Sunday routine 🛁

25th January 2021
The reason I break the ice in the birdbath with a hammer and my numb fingers every morning,
is because of how much these guys need and love the water.
At least 20 Starlings, a Pigeon or two and one tough Sparrow had fun fighting over,
drinking and bathing this morning. Was lovely to see.

26th January 2021
Lip-licking from his Whimzees Alligator treat, after his ear treatment 🖤

27th January 2021
It was a slow start reading-wise this year as I was trying to get through an 800-page book from a series I needed to finish...
Until this pre-order arrived and I stopped everything to pick it up.
Out of the 62 books I read last year 'The Twisted Tree' was one of my absolute favourites so
I'm over the moon that this is on par, if not better.

28th January 2021
It seems we have some lodgers...

2021 Project 365 // Days 15 - 21

15th January 2021
Thick fog making it spooky outside this morning.

16th January 2021
Went for a drive to turn over the car but when we passed the Church where my 7x Paternal Great Grandmother got married,
and no one was around, we took the opportunity for a quick 5-minute sunset stroll.
The last photo is from the car, overlooking the port.
No idea why there are cruise ships around in these times...

17th January 2021
Bath day 🛀

18th January 2021
Look at that crazy cloud!
Also, I waited so long for Mr H coming out from work, the moon appeared! (😂 it was only 3-4pm).

19th January 2021
I always love how the light from the candles etc reflects on our special books.

20th January 2021
Finally got my poster made for my current fundraising efforts.
I'm running 90 miles, along the route of Hadrians Wall virtually, from inside my own home.
I aim to collect sponsors in aid of Vucjak Shetler in Serbia.
Go to justgiving.com/crowdfunding/hallow90miles to see a video and read more about this incredible rescue.
Please consider donating towards this cause, it would mean a lot!
A huge thank you to those who have already supported me 🖤

21st January 2021
If only that was a magic tornado coming to take me to Oz... 😔

2021 Project 365 // Days 8 - 14

8th January 2021
We took a turn off the road on the way home today so I could try and get a photo of the blanketed white views.
Ended up driving for ages to find somewhere to stop.

9th January 2021
Remember to break the ice on your birdbaths and stuff.
The birds still need to drink in the cold weather and all the puddles etc are frozen over.

10th January 2021
Sunday is becoming the traditional bath day.

11th January 2021
🌄

12th January 2021
4 miles down, 84 to go.
Today I started my virtual trek of Hadrians Wall to raise money for Vucjak Shelter.
Please help me reach my goal by donating visiting
https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/hallow90miles
I am doing this fully from my own home, with no treadmill and have arthritis, back issues and asthma
so come support me and in turn, raise funds for a fantastic animal rescue shelter!

13th January 2021
💧

14th January 2021
How can we be two weeks into the year and only just featuring one of our 10 babies in the project?!
Aurora has been learning to come and stay to a designated spot recently and she's doing really well!
Much more willing to do things than her sister, even though they both definitely understand.

2021 Project 365 // Days 1 - 7

Happy 2021 and Welcome to Year 9 of this daily photo journey.
We are already one full week into 2020 and it's time to share my first week in photos.

1st January 2021
New Year, same old daily photos!
The 9th annual Project 365 has begun as has the traditional personalized family calendar.

2nd January 2021
The symbol of a crazy weather day - a rainbow.
We started with frost, then snow, rain and sun...all in one day.

3rd January 2021
First bath bomb of the year. Starting out with a Butterbear.

4th January 2021
Didn't manage to get any other photos today, so here's one I took as part of an upcoming blog post.

5th January 2021
Another member joins the hammock gang. Please support Born Free Foundation.

6th January 2021
You'd think it was Autumn.
And you'd never know this was only steps from my while waiting to pick Mr H up.

7th January 2021
Most nights we've put the frost shield on the car it's pee'd down all night,
but here we are with the glittering roof so it was worth it for this morning I guess.

2020 Project 366 Round Up

It's that time again. Time to look back at the year and remember all that has happened, the good, the bad and the memorable! Looking back at last year's round-up post I apparently said that I hoped to not only post my daily photos weekly, the 'Back Through the Lens' posts weekly (of which I did both), but also a monthly summary...I guess I forgot about that entirely. Either way, I did still compile each month into a little calendar so as to see it all in one place.
You'll find those below, along with one photo from each month and a summary of its memorable moments.

January Moments
- An early morning call on January 1st wasn't my parents wishing us 'Happy New Year' but telling us my Dad had been rushed to hospital in the early hours.
- We booked our Honeymoon to Disneyland Paris.
- A walk at Marsden Bay was exciting when I finally got to photograph the Fulmer there in flight.
- Dad got home from hospital, but also ended up back there in the latter of the month.

Above Photo - Mr H interviewed for some new jobs and we took the opportunity to visit all our animal friends at the wonderful Saltwell Park
(our local park when we lived in Gatehead), while we were in the area.

February Moments
- Athena joined our family.
- Mr H and I went to see Dolittle at the cinema.
- Mam and I drove to Edinburgh to have Nana's ashes interred where Granda is.
- Laura and I visited Tynemouth Aquarium.

Above Photo - The Knife Angel came to Newcastle and Mam and I went to see it.

March Moments
- Our last trip to the cinema, at least for the foreseeable future, was to see Onward.
- We completed a jigsaw that had sat unfinished from before we moved house.
- Vegan Pizza Hut takeaway was a highlight haha.
- The first of a few monthly couple portraits that had to be taken at home.

Above Photo - Athena was settling in and we got her first photo to add her to the board.

April Moments
- I got to talk to my friend Amina on the phone, all the way from South Africa.
Stuff like that makes me realize how insane technology is.
- We had some super nice hot weather spent with ice lollies, books and our feet in Bakers paddling pool.
- I did some sewing projects, made the girls some little beds and blogged about it for the Cats Protection blog.
- The Disney Store Castle Collection stress started haha!
- Our back garden transformation happened, complete with a new greenhouse.

Above Photo - On the 23rd March, far too late, the government placed us in 'lockdown' and only in the last couple of days have these messages appeared on signs.
(Mr works alone as a head chef in an NHS Ambulance Service building, meaning our travel was essential as I would drop him off and pick him up to avoid public transport.)

May Moments
- More book reading in the sun.
- I made a crazy cardboard castle for the cats.
- We painted the kitchen a nice natural colour, away from the weird blue choice it was.
(Then painted the Guinea's hutch to match.)
- Mr H got me a new photo after mine had seen it's last day.
- On the 27th we finally got our first woodland adventure of the year!

Above Photo - We went to the beach at 6am on the 16th of May for my first time leaving the house since February 29th.
It was nice to breathe fresh air, feel the sand on my feet and see the wildlife...but we were surprised how many others were out so early and cut the walk shorter than we'd have liked.

Click here to see all of May's photos.

June Moments
- We took a trip over to a (semi) local farm shop so we could get some fresh fruit and veg. I had a panic attack and stayed in the car while Mr H popped in quickly.
- Another bee had to be saved after he fell into Bakers pool.
- On the17th we had a rainy/foggy walk at Headley Hall Woods and took our monthly portrait a day short of an exact year that we took the same photo in 2019.
- It was our 1-year house-iversary!

Above Photo - A nature mandala create using leaves, petals etc from my gardens to celebrate 30 Days Wild!

Click here to see all of June's photos.

July Moments
- We decorated Bakers bedroom!
- I took an at-home blood test and ended up passing out.
- Hela and Freya had their own photoshoot.
- Our honeymoon to Disneyland Paris got cancelled (our decision).

Above Photo - Mr Hoggle came to us needing help and stayed a little while before being re-released.

Click here to see all of July's photos.

August Moments
- Beamish re-opened and we renewed our Friends of Beamish membership, although we only got to visit once.
- Our huge order of camping stuff arrived for our re-planned Honeymoon in October.
(Before it also got cancelled).
- The reptiles got viv upgrades.
- Baker had his 8th Birthday!

Above Photo - Just a beautiful sunset.

Click here to see all of August's photos.

September Moments
- We installed security cameras on our house.
- My car went in for it's MOT, finally!
- I finished sewing a little wildlife felt garland
- A drive in the countryside ended up in an unexpected stop
visiting my Great Granda, Great Nana and Great Auntys graves.

Above Photo - The business park where Mr H works is right on the river with a lovely woodland walkway.
We popped along quickly once he finished work, while it was quiet, to get our monthly portrait.

Click here to see all of September's photos.

October Moments
- I got to photograph a gorgeous Peregine Falcon who was just hanging around when I picked up Mr H from work.
- Our special commissioned artwork for our 1st wedding anniversary arrived.
- I turned 30.
- We celebrated Halloween/our anniversary, carving pumpkins and eating pizza.

Above Photo - Our Halloween decor. The only holiday we celebrate, therefore decorate for.

Click here to see all of October's photos.

November Moments
- I got my annual personalized calendars made.
- At the start of the year I'd collected pebbles from the beach and finally got round to painting.
- My RAC break down insurance came in handy when the battery I'd replaced only 15 months prior died.
- The bathroom got a well-needed paint.

Above Photo - We had Sparrows in our garden! A rare occurrence.

Click here to see all of November's photos.

December Moments
- I finally got my old inhalers back.
- We got a new jigsaw and completed it in 2 sessions.
- More car trouble came in the form of a flat tire...
- We found a new vegan takeaway that was amazing!

Above Photo - Only our second visit to Eden Place and Beamish Woods this year, complete with a dusting of snow.

Click here to see all of December's photos.

And that's a wrap on 2020. It wasn't too different for us compared to many people, just fewer walks and outdoor explorations sadly. I also missed out on starting work for an animal charity in February when all of the regulations started to take force...that's probably one of the main things I'm sad about along with not getting our Honeymoon obviously.

Thanks for following along with my 8th year of daily photos. Remember you can see them in real-time over on my Instagram - mrs.hall0w . Some of the days also have many more photos to see but I cap it at 10 for this project, so pop onto my main blog - Underland to Wonderland - to see posts including those as well as much more.

Until next time...
